ALFRED FINDS A GIRLFRIEND

This is Rosie.  A very pretty and artistic eighteen year old girl, who loves dancing, singing, cooking, visiting Alfred, taking photographs, and making clothes

Alfred was walking down the isle of the toy shop one day looking for a soft toy mouse for his younger brother...

This is his younger brother

...when he saw a pretty young girl looking at the very rack he wanted to look at.  Normally he was very shy, but this girl looked so kind that his feet carried him on towards the rack.

He said 'hello' and then they stayed and chatted for a while and each decided secretly that they liked the other very much.

Then Alfred went home and a few days later he received a parcel from a far away town and opened it carefully

It was the girl!!  She sat in the box, and then smiled up at him as he stared and then clapped his hands with joy.

She got out of the box and told him that her name was Rosie, and they sat down and chatted for a long time about what they liked doing.  She soon found out that Alfred was an author and needed someone to take photos for him, since she loved doing photography, she said that she would be delighted to take some.

Then Alfred asked her if she could stay for a while maybe, and Rosie said that her Mother would be very happy to let her stay for a day or two.  Alfred was very excited and asked her if she could cook.  She said yes, and there was soon a steaming roast on the table and a dancing Alfred.
She shyly called him to sit down, and were soon eating heartily.

After tea they sat on the couch together to watch the sun going down.  Alfred turned to her and said  "I like you."  and Rosie said "I like you too."  then they looked out the window again to watch the last of the sun slipping away down behind the mountain.

Then it was Alfred's bedtime and because Rosie wasn't tired, she tucked him up and sang to him until he fell asleep.  Then she silently crawled over to the big rug by the fire, and stretched out on it. It was warm from being by the fire for so long.  She lay for a little while listening to Alfred snoring, and then she too drifted off into peaceful sleep.
